LEO KUPPER

I bought a compilation of Leo Kupper's electro-acoustic work a few years back but as sometimes happens I only began to really listen to it recently. Top guy. Really intriguing soundworld, particularly his 'Guitarra Cubana' pieces. Below is his Vangelis meets Parmegiani, 'Aerosons' from 1985 - listen on headphones to really lap up the slurps and whirrs. Leo Kupper began his journey down the electronic highway in Henri Pousseur's electronic music studio, Apelac in 1959. According to a short Sub Rosa biography he went on to found in 1967 the Studio de Recherches et de Structurations Electroniques Auditives
