Father Yod (also known as Ya Ho Wha) was a former WWII marine turned health food restauranteur, who formed the Source family commune. Within this commune he was the leader of the Ya Ho Wha 13, who were a religious sect/Hollywood Hills psychedelic jam band. Abide. Though their releases are a little bit patchy they're worth a listen (below). Yod's vocals lend a certain charisma to proceedings. He died in a hand-gliding accident in Hawaii in 1975.
