Reggae's number one unicycle enthusiast puts on his boogie shoes for this loping disco number from 1979.

JAH WOBBLE'S INVADERS OF THE HEART
Nice track by Stepney's most notable bike chain wielding, sonic auteur. As mixed by Andrew Weatherall. Oud, tabla, dub fx and the boys brigade all feature in this heady tapestry.
MARCOS VALLE
A Marcos Valle post is long overdue. Marcos is one of those rare musicians who seemingly has few duds in his back catalogue. For someone whose first album was recorded in 1963, and who continues to make music to this date, that's pretty good going. I'm a big fan of his 1973 LP Previsão do Tempo, a slightly melancholy sounding, sonically inventive album which has stood up to the withering test of time. I'm a big fan of the exercise friendly, summery music videos in the early eighties, one of which features below. Go check out everything he's done.

PINO D'ANGIO
Here's a track by sexy, Italian disco henchman, Pino. This track seems to be propelled by the swivel of his snake hips as he walks the outskirts of a bar in Rimini smoking Marlboro Reds, and unclasping bikini bras with the power of his gaze.
ROLF TROSTEL
I've had a brief hiatus from the blog, but I'm back with a track from wild-maned, synthesizer jam prophet, Rolf Trostel. Rolf made some corking albums in the early eighties in a similar vein to Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Klaus Schulze et al. This track from 'Inselmusik' is my favourite; in fact I think it might be a collaboration with Klaus (again putting to use my peerless research skills...) It's a journey through at least five different sonic domains, the sky full of rusting satellites and mutant crows.

HEATWAVE
Rod Temperton's boys do it right. The track above wasn't written by Cleethorpes' finest (Rod) but by bassist Derek Bramble, and the bass and those bold synths flow over you like sweet caresses. I love the way it essentially becomes a Black Uhuru party track by the end.

FELT
Lovely, lonely Lawrence. There's such an amazing delicacy to Felt's music and one I admittedly only came to recently. It's the ultimate introverted listening experience. Every day is October 23rd, and a chilly one at that. I've been meaning to watch that documentary about him for a while. He seems to be a quite a fascinating character.

DUSTY SPRINGFIELD
Here are two highlights from Dusty's eighties canon. 'Nothing Has Been Proved' is a collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys, Angelo Badalamenti & Courtney Pine. Strong company. Check the video below - it's quite a trip!

PRINCE JAMMY
Here's a track from dub's baby faced prince in collaboration with machines. Digital dub created after a few huffs on the digi-bong.

JANIS IAN
Have had this one on repeat recently. I've found the rhythm and momentum is such that it makes me walk with a slight lurch when I listen to it on my portable music device.

LETTA MBULU
Sean P's Originals compilation was my entry point into Letta's music. Here are two gems of honey-dipped South African soul.
